change of name

It is to be noted that Hiwot HIV/AIDS Prevention Care and Support Association was established at the time HIV infection was at its pick. The service was meant for HIV infected and affected Orphans and Vulnerable Children. The founder thought it appropriate to give it the currently used name which was in line with the then objective of the association.

However, the currently used name is changed as of April 5 2011 to Hiwot Integrated Development Association (HIDA) because of the association has started to get involved in more issues in addition to HIV/AIDS due to the strategic shift made.

The association has decided to integrate maternal and child health, hygiene and sanitation, commercial sex workers service, school gardening service along with HIV/AIDS Prevention and Orphan and Vulnerable Children’s Care and Support service.

Therefore, we are glad to inform all the concerned that our name is changed to HIDA.
